DOWNLOAD AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

(Browser note: If you are using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer, you may only be offered the option to 'Save File'. In this case, save the file to your computer, and then run the saved file.)

Choose the 'Run' command from the download screen when it appears and the program will self-install to a new program directory named YesMemWorks. If your firewall warns that it cannot verify the publisher, just select the 'run' button to continue. All our software has been virus checked prior to installation on our website. If you have any concerns, you can instead save the file to your computer without incurring a firewall warning; run your own virus check if you wish, and then install the program by double clicking the downloaded file icon.

The transcription test program requires sound files to be installed on your computer, and hence requires a setup program. The files are contained in a '.zip' file named 'Best Practice Transfer Transcription.zip' which will be downloaded to your computer when you press the download button. You will need an unzipping program  (Google 'Winzip') to use the setup program. When you have unzipped the files, run 'Setup.exe' to install the program to your computer. If you have any problems - use our contact page and we'll do our best to help.

To download the spellchecker supplementary dictionary: 

• Make a new folder on your computer (remember its name and where it is.)
• When you click the 'Download' button on the website, the spellchecker file will open on your screen.
• Choose the 'File' command from the open file on the screen and then choose the 'Save as' option.
• Navigate to the new folder you made on your computer and save the file as 'BestPracticeTransfer.dic'.
• Close the open file on the screen by clicking the 'X' in the top right of the open file box. 

  To install the spellchecker on MS Word:

  • Open a blank Word document
  • Click 'Tools' on the toolbar
  • Click 'Options' in the dropdown box
  • Click the 'Spelling & Grammar' tab
  • Click the 'Dictionaries' button
  • Click the 'Add' button
  • Navigate to the directory where BestPracticeTransfer.dic is saved
  • Highlight 'BestPracticeTransfer.dic'
  • Click 'OK' (Dictionary is added)
  • Click the down arrow in the 'Custom dictionaries' list box (box normally reads 'CUSTOM')
  • Double click on 'BestPracticeTransfer.dic' in the dropdown list box
  • Change check boxes:

  Just 4 check boxes should be checked:

              √ Check spelling as you type

              √ Always suggest corrections

              √ Check grammar as you type

              √ Check grammar with spelling

  • Click 'OK' at the bottom of the Options box and you are finished
